About Lore

Lore is a contemporary artist based in Adelaide, South Australia, whose work explores our deep and often quiet connection with the natural world. Drawing inspiration from landscapes, memory, movement and the relationships between people and place, her paintings invite a sense of stillness, reflection and belonging.

Her work moves beyond traditional landscape painting, using expressive colour, texture and atmosphere to explore the emotional spaces we inhabit and the ways nature shapes our experiences. From expansive landscapes to more intimate moments between people and the natural world, each piece is an invitation to pause, feel and reconnect.

As a mother and artist, Lore is particularly drawn to the idea of nature as a place of grounding, wonder and connection — a space we return to, both physically and emotionally. Her contemporary practice reflects a longing for slower moments, meaningful connection and the feeling of being exactly where we are meant to be.

“Painting doesn’t freeze time. It circulates and recycles time like a wheel that turns. Those who were first might well be last. Painting is a very slow art. That is why dead painters shine so bright.”

— Marlene Dumas
