Let me show you how I created this painting. It is always cool to look back and reflect on the process. I grew up in Tulbagh. A small town nestled in between the mountains of the Western Cape in South Africa. A town that I called home for many years. One of my favorite motherhood quotes is: “Her childhood is my motherhood” My husband and I have always loved being active and spending time outdoors. Since having young kids, we’ve had to put some of the things we enjoyed most—like long runs, cycling and swimming together—on hold for a while. A quiet stretch of the Heysen Trail’s coastal route, where rugged cliffs meet the endless sea. A backyard session. Few things bring me more joy than this. Enjoying the last few days of the most special visit. Family truly is everything. 🤍 What I love about painting is that it’s an act of giving — giving a part of yourself, your creativity, your time, and the way you see the world.
